When you get up and you’re on your way to work, class, or even a doctors’ appointment, you encounter characters: the people walking by, the friends you greet, the people in the waiting room. Everyone, in a sense, is a character. Whether it is in real life or through fiction, characters are important, and we encounter them on a daily basis. A character’s personality is influenced by experience, family, friends, and other relationships. For my exhibition I chose Henrietta as the focus, showing how it is when a child is raised by a single mother who dates. These pieces show "how" Henrietta came to be who she is, "why" she is who she is, and "who" she is as a person. It is here that you will experience Henrietta and her family through Henrietta.
