Two Voices, One Boat
This is an interactive artwork in which two participants navigate a shared virtual environment using only the sound of their voices. Each person stands at a microphone and their intensiy of voice controls each side of a boat moving across the calm lake. The boat moves forward only when both participants listen to one another and adjust their input together. In this way, it shifts attention away from individual control and toward collaboration, making the act of communication visible through movement and visual.
As participants explore the environment, they can stop at small piers to collect materials and transport them to a central location where a lighthouse is gradually constructed. Unlike a fixed object, the lighthouse emerges over time through the accumulated efforts of many pairs of participants. It becomes a visible record of cooperation. I hope that by the end of the exhibition, the lighthouse will stand fully constructed, shaped by everyone who participated.
